Pet Stores or Pet Adoption?

Now,
both Pişi and I
are adopted cats,
brought into
the BTLO's house
when we were about
two years old,
so
we are rather partial to how animals should get homes.

But,
one wonders
if Austin has taken it too
far.

Let us know what you think --

we promise, we
won't be offended
if you
say the pet stores should have
equal rights.

We just have our own
special
bias:

with love,

I think Austin's ordinance is a good idea. Other businesses are regulated -- why shouldn't pet breeders be? If a purchaser wants an unspayed or unneutered pet, the breeder can pass the $50 special fee on to the purchaser. No buyer is going to go out of state and incur shipping costs just to avoid a lousy $50.

Her Royal Highness came to me via a Humane Society too. She was part of a litter of unwanted kittens from an unspayed mother cat.
